A letter to Curt Mega.

If you’re reading this, it means you took the time to read through Tweets from your fans, replying and checking links, which is just one of the many things you do for us. Over the past year, your fanbase on Tumblr has grown incredibly. Some people find this odd, since you’re quite obviously not Cory Monteith. I personally have been asked “but what does Curt do,” in response to the fact that I wear a bracelet with your name around my wrist. I can’t say you’ve starred in my favorite movies, or made multi-platinum albums, or even been on the cover of magazines at the corner store. But what I can say - what we all say - is that you spent all spring and summer hanging out with us on tour, giving us more than we could have asked for, when you’ve never owed any of us a thing. And when that was said and done, and the busses were rolling on to the next city, you took to Twitter. And everyone listened. Because you’re a real person, just like all of us. You’ve proved it by talking with us, having coffee at Starbucks with us, laughing with us, walking and talking just like us. And that lets us believe that the words you Tweet, words that apply to you, could just as easily apply to us to. And they do. All the time.

So, this project was started in hopes of letting you know that you’re changing lives, 140 characters at a time. You’re letting us know that it’s going to be okay, that life can go our way, that we’re worth it. And that’s why we write your name on our hands, keep pictures of you on our blogs, wear clothing with your words on them. Because the majority of us may live and die for Glee. But we live life well because you exist within it.

So, this blog is composed of photos taken and digitally created by fans who’ve been touched in one way or another by your insight. We’ve spent the last month scouring through yout Twitter for the gems that have helped us through hard times, or just made good times better. Who hope it will let you know that your words don’t go unnoticed or unappreciated. because we appreciate them. More than you could ever know.

“I try to Sparkle at Heart” - Curt Mega

So when we heard about this photo-project, me being the photography buff that I am wanted to try something different. I knew for certain I didn’t want to Photoshop ANYTHING. I wanted everything in the photo to be natural and captured in one frame.
I had this image in my mind of writing on the sand, with the waves breaking just in front of it and the sun setting in the distance. To be honest, I didn’t think I would be able to pull it off, because the entire combination depended on whether we could find the perfect spot of beach, the right wave, the correct angle of the sun, the quote we were using, etc.
I didn’t get the sunset I wanted. There was another island in the way, and there were clouds blocking the last stages of the sunset. The sea was far too calm, so the breakers were minimal. The sand got too powdery at one point and writing was illegible.
In the end though, I think I came close :) I do like the lighting and the sparkle of the beam of light on the wave, shining on to the quote; and the colors of the sky in the background. So overall I like to think I succeeded.
THANK YOU CURT, for inspiring me to push my boundaries and try to do new things even though they may seem difficult at first, because the end results can pleasantly surprise you.
Hope you enjoy the photo!

“Sometimes you need to pause to simply take in what’s around you and absorb it, breathe it. Only once filled can you share with others.” —  Curt Mega
For the CMMP. I was on vacation and this is one of the many things I saw and I immediately had to think of this quote. On the picture there’s me, with Landscape Arch in the background, from Arches National Park. How nature can be so exceptional and beautiful at the same time is beyond me, and I really had to stop to take everything every other step I took.

This is the picture I took the day I went for a walk after being inspired by Curt’s tweets and one that he later ended up seeing and saying that he loved, so it only felt appropriate to jazz it up with some of Curt’s inspiring words :)
